 Re: Star Wars prequels
Agree with all of the above. Jar Jar was obviously aimed for veeeery young audiences, and if youre not 3 you cant stomach the character, and as a matter of fact most of the alien characters in E1. And the dialogue is awful, but all the Maul bits are golden

 Re: Star Wars prequels
Darth Maul is the best part of the three prequels. With him dying in Episode 1 the series goes down hill from there.

 Re: Star Wars prequels
Well in theory I like the structure of EP2. It was supposed to be more character and sweeping romantic epic, but the dialogue ruined the effect.

I hope I don't get lynched for this, but I really love Episode 2:Attack Of The Clones. I prefer it immensely to The Phantom Menace, Clones has more pace, it's a lot more fun and the only thing that brings it down, as Rescue has noted, is the dialogue. The moment when Annakin tells Padme her skin is 'soft, like sand' or words to such effect has to be, hands down, the worst line of dialogue ever uttered in a film, let alone a Star Wars film, made even more so by the fact you can tell by Hayden Christensen's face that he knows it. Other than that, the action sequences are tremendous, Jar Jar is kept to a minimum and the climax has to rank as one of the best action sequences in the series. Oh, and Yoda, Christopher Lee, lightsabres, need I say more. Always has me cheering.

 Re: Star Wars prequels
I always wondered what this series would look like with Lucas as the idea man and someone else writing all the scripts and directing, like say Jim. I think Id like it better.

You ain't the only one. So much potential. Such a wasted opportunity because the prequels can't be undone.
